Ruth E Pries

Ruth E. Pries, 78, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, November 14, 2010, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls.  She was born June 16, 1932, the daughter of Albert J. and Emma  (Rabe) Hagedorn. Ruth graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1949. She married Arthur Pries September 22, 1957 in Fredericksburg. He preceded her in death August 19, 2003. Ruth attended Gates Business College and then worked for ALD Inc. in Chicago for eight years and then worked for John Deere as a secretary for 29 years, retiring in 1985.

Survivors include two brothers, Wayne (Christine) Hagedorn, of Fredericksburg and Roger (Linda) Hagedorn, of Sumner;  and one sister, Betty (Ray) Niewoehner, of Fredericksburg. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at  Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one before services at  the church.  Memorials may be directed to Nazareth Lutheran Church,  Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly, and Christian Crusaders.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
