RUTH B. HOEPPNER
was born November 8, 1911 in Popejoy, Iowa, the daughter of Roy E. and Alta Ann (Gates) Altenhein. She married Harold W. Hoeppner in Traer, Iowa. He preceded her in death on September 23, 1983. Ruth stayed at home to raise her five children; was a member of the Eastern Star, Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls, and a member of the woman's church circle. She died Wednesday, October 6, 1999, at her home in Cedar Falls, at 87 years of age.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Jo Nickel and her husband Dieter of Cedar Falls; her three sons, Donald and his wife Sherryl of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Curtis and his wife Gayle of Rockford, Illinois, and Eldon and his wife Jeanne of Reinbeck, Iowa; ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and her two brothers, Roger Altenhein and his wife Helen of Traer, Iowa, and Robert Altenhein and his wife Jean of Cedar Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; a son, Vernon; and two brothers, John and Paul Altenhein.
Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 1999, at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls, with interment at Reinbeck Cemetery in Reinbeck, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association, or Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church.
