Ruth Dickinson

Ruth Irene Dickinson, 89, of Washburn, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Monday, September 23, 2013 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. She was born in Cedar Falls, October 4, 1923, the daughter of Ira L. and Leoma S. (Hoxie) Byers. Ruth married Max R. Dickinson December 15, 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death May 31, 2000. Ruth graduated from Cedar Falls High School. Ruth is survived by her son, Kenneth Dickinson of Washburn; five grandchildren, Keith Steimel, Douglas (Tara) Steimel, Laura (Bob) Rose, Carolyn (Tony) Del Giudice, and Elizabeth Dickinson; eleven great grandchildren, Nichole (Jeff) Bramow, Jason, Justin, and Natalie Steimel, Dylan and Sydney Steimel, Tessa and Kinnick Steimel, Courteney, Lyndesey and Lane Rose and one great great grandchild expected in December. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Patricia Steimel, one granddaughter, Amber Steimel, two brothers, Ralph and Harold Byers; and one sister Helen Jensen. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both In Cedar Falls.
