Ruth N Dehoff

Ruth Naomi DeHoff, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, November 14, 2011, at the Western Home Elizabeth Martin Center.  She was born November 21, 1922, in York, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Kessler) Myers. Ruth married Bernard C. DeHoff November 6, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee. He preceded her in death February 7, 1999. Ruth graduated from York High School, York Pennsylvania, in 1941. She was very active with many organizations in Cedar Falls.

She is survived by two sons, Brad (Terri) DeHoff of Cedar Falls and David DeHoff and his friend Laurel Klinkenberg of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Jane (Steve) Carter and Patti (Randy) Lorenzen, both of Cedar Falls;  four grandchildren, Becky (Zach) Adams, Lindsay (Paul) Rogers, Erika (Shannon) Leonard, and Will (Stefanie) Carter; four great grandchildren, Keaton Rogers, Alaina and Jonah Leonard, and Taten Carter.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, parents and twelve brothers and sisters.

Memorial services will be 5:00 pm Monday, November 21, 2011, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with private family burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—7:00 pm Thursday, November 17, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Sartori Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Valley Hospice and  Girls Scouts of Eastern Iowa .
