Russell Jean Roberts

Russell Jean Roberts, 70, Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026 at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.

Russ was born November 19, 1955 at Allen Hospital to the late William J. and Voral E. (Bolk) Roberts. Following his graduation from High School Russ went on to Hawkeye Tech receiving his degree in automotive mechanics. Russ was a very gifted auto mechanic. Russ married Nancy Weissenfluh on November 24, 2000 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Russ had a great love of racing throughout his life, but his greatest love was always Nancy. His devotion to Nancy was evident in many ways; they were best friends and whenever she needed anything he would always respond with a smile and “Yes, beautiful wife”. When Nancy needed a special tool for a project, Russ would expertly craft the perfect tool for her.

Russ is survived by his wife of 26 years, Nancy; step-children, Amanda (Jim) Erpelding of Cedar Falls and David Guynn of Dike; grandchildren, Cloe, Gabby and Abby Erpelding; Lucy and Julie Guynn; great-grandson, Touya; sister, Melody (Kevin) Pons; uncle, Melvin “Unk” Bolk; and extended family and friends.

Russ’s Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 20, 2026 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. There will be a private inurnment at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Nancy for the family.
