RUSSELL F. HILL was born March 7, 1914 in Shell Rock, Iowa, the son of Frank and Myrtle (Hall) Hill. He married Lucille J. Barr on June 30, 1935 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua, Iowa. She preceded him in death on August 7, 1984. Russell married Betty Jean Wisby on October 12, 2002, in Cedar Falls. Russell was employed for 23 years at Iowa Securities Company where he served as Vice President and was also the manager of the Waterloo office. Since 1958, he has owned Hill Realty, Building and Appraisal Company, earning his certification as an M.A.I. Appraiser, and was a developer of several sub divisions in the area. Russell was a member of the Elks Club, the Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd degree Shriner. He was past president in 1970 of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Real Estate Board and was past president of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Home Builders Association. He also was the National and Life Director of the National Association of Home Builders. Russell died Monday, August 4, 2003, at his home in Cedar Falls, at 89 years of age. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Wisby-Hill, of Cedar Falls; three sons, Larry L., John C. and Steven W. Hill, all of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Helen L. Hill Moser, of Schaumburg, Illinois; four step-children, Gary Wisby of Evanston, Illinois, James Wisby of Des Moines, Iowa, Barbara Harms of Waterloo, Iowa and Sharon Joseph of Phoenix, Arizona; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.  Russell was preceded in death by his parents and first wife; a sister, Helen Hill and his step-mother, Henrietta Hill. Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2003, at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls.  Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Shell Rock, Iowa.  Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
