RUSSELL W. HAHN was born May 15, 1918, at Allison, Iowa, the son of George and Anna (Reisewitz) Hahn. He married Harriet Smidt June 9, 1944 at Allison, Iowa.  Russell served with the U.S. Army during WW II.  He was a self employed carpenter and was a carpenter at the Western Home Communities for over twenty years. He was a member of Black Hawk Masonic Lodge # 65, a charter member of the Cedar Falls Y'S Men's Club, the Cedar Falls American Legion, Post 237 and First United Church in Cedar Falls. Russell died Sunday. June 2, 2002 at the Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa at the age of 84 years. Russell is survived by his wife, Harriet of Cedar Falls; three sons, Terry, Doug and Gregory; one daughter, Jean Firman all of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Suiter, Sarah Hahn, Hayley Hahn, Andrea Hahn, Amanda Firman, Barry Firman, Megan Hahn and Alexia Hahn.  Russell was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Lee, Ray, John and Nicholas; three sisters, Mary Frey, Clara Brocka and Rachael Hall and two infant sisters.

Funeral services were 10:30 Thursday, June 6, 2002, at First Christian Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.  A memorial fund will be established.
