Russell Burton Fuller

Russell Burton Fuller, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, August 7, 2017 at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo.  Russell was born October 15, 1923 in Grove Hill, Iowa, the son of Vernie & Maude (Carpenter) Fuller.  He served in the United States Army during WWII in artillery and in the reserves during the Korean Conflict.  Russell married Donna Mae Hansen January 30, 1951 In Fairmont, Minnesota.  She preceded him in death July 15, 2015.  Russell worked in the John Deere Foundry for 33 years retiring in 1983.  He was a member of UAW Local 838.

Survivors include two sons, Robert "Bob" (Connie) Fuller of Holland, Iowa and Ron (Susan) Fuller of Waterloo; three daughters, Nancy (Charlie Thurston) Vorland of Cedar Falls, Judy Altizer of Burlington, Iowa and Carol Lipper of Sperry, Iowa; 22 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Studdard Fitzgerald of Fort Myers, Florida, Beverly Yarrington of Buckingham, Iowa; and a brother and sister in law, Kenneth & Geraldine Hansen of Evansdale, Iowa.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents and wife; one son, Jerry Fuller; two granddaughters, Heather Brayton & Heidi Fuller, one great granddaughter, Gracie Buss and two brothers, Sylvester and Darwin Fuller.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at Washington Chapel United Methodist Church, rural Cedar Falls.  Burial will be in Washington Chapel Cemetery with full Military Honors by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time at the church.  Memorials may be directed to UnityPoint Hospice in Waterloo.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
