Ruby Foelske Harms

Ruby Marie Foelske Harms, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, September 7, 2012, at Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center. She was born January 28, 1925 in Frederika, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Minnie (Nelson) Johnson. Ruby married Harold Foelske December 8, 1946 in Frederika. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1978. Ruby married Melvin Harms December 27, 1980 in Cedar Falls. She farmed for many years with her husband Harold. Survivors include her husband, Melvin Harms, of Cedar Falls; three sons, Roger (Virginia) Foelske of Indianola, Iowa, Daryl (Malinda) Foelske of Cedar Falls, and Kevin (Vannessa) Foelske of Ankeny; two stepsons, John (Darnel) Harms of Coolidge, Arizona and Gary (Jo) Harms of Forest Lake, Minnesota; a stepdaughter, Jean Harms, of Tucson, Arizona; an honorary daughter, Ruth (Brian) Kelleher, of San Tan Valley, Arizona; six grandchildren, Aaron (Dawn) Foelske, Jennifer Foelske, Brian Foelske, Christopher Foelske, Eric (Kristy) Foelske and Brett (Elizabeth) Foelske; six stepgrandchildren; three great grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren, and a sister, Verla Schloman, of Cedar Falls Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, a brother, Gaylord Johnson, and a sister, Alice Tonn. Services will be 1:30 pm Monday, September 10, 2012, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Denver. Visitation will be 25:00 pm Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the church.
