Rozella "Rosie" I. Kienzle, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Western Home Communities, Thalman Square. Rosie was born March 28, 1930, in Traer, Iowa, the daughter of Frederick & Hilda (Paustian) Stammer. She married Harold Kienzle March 18, 1951, in Gladbrook, Iowa. Rosie was a nurse in Marshalltown, Iowa and at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, Iowa, and then was the secretary to the nurses in the Cedar Falls Community School District. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross, Nurse's Club, her church circle and for Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include her husband, Harold, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Douglas Ray (Carol) Kienzle, of Cedar Falls and Kent Harold (Patricia) Kienzle, of Rochester, Michigan; two daughters, Kristi (Jack) Keller, of Casper, Wyoming and Karen Kienzle, of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren, Megan, Emily, Justin, Seth, Justine and Marissa, one step grandson, John; and two great grandchildren, Jackson and Elleanor.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lester and Alvin Stammer.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 at Cedar Falls United Church of Christ with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday.
