Rosalie Clara DeVoll, 81, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, September 28, 2013, at the Univ. of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. She was born July 14, 1932 in New Ulm, Minnesota, the daughter of Willard and Margaret (Callanan) Friederich. Rosalie married Alvin DeVoll on June 7, 1952 in New Ulm. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1981. Survivors include two sons, Alvin W. DeVoll, Jr. of Wellsburg, Iowa and Ronald (Blanche) DeVoll of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Noreen (Tim) Earls of Waterloo, Bonita (Jerry) Ford of Iowa City and Anita (Jerry) Schroeder of Center Point, Iowa; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren; three brothers, Eugene (Marie) Friederich of Le Mars, Iowa, Arnold (Sharon) Friederich and David (Sonja) Friederich, both of New Ulm, and a sister, Kathleen Hempel, of New Ulm. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents and husband, five brothers, Danny, John, Willard Jr., Robert and Bernard Friederich, and a great grandchild. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial at New Ulm Catholic Cemetery, both in New Ulm, Minnesota. Visitation will be 4 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where a 4:00 p.m. Rosary Service will be conducted. Visitation also one hour before service at the church in New Ulm. A memorial fund will be established.
