Roger D. Trueg

Roger D. Trueg, 78, of Dike, Iowa, died at his home on Thursday, June 14, 2018.  He was born July 1, 1939 in Cedar Falls, the son of Henry and Rosalyn (Andreessen) Trueg.  Roger married Barbara Christenson on February 14, 1959 in Cedar Falls.  He was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School and worked at John Deere and Company in Waterloo for 34 years, retiring as a supervisor on April 30, 1998.  Roger was a Red Cross volunteer, enjoyed sports, especially golf, and was very artistic.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Trueg, of Dike; his three sons, Larry (Shelly) Trueg of Bloomington, Indiana, Mike (Carol) Trueg of Dubuque, Iowa and Doug (Mary) Trueg of Muscatine, Iowa; his daughter, Cheri Huff, of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his brother, Russell (Jeanne) Trueg and his sister, Caroline (Joe) Hess, both of Cedar Falls.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, and a grandson, Anthony Huff.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be 3—6:00 p.m. Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church on Monday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church or Christian Crusaders.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
