ROGER JAMES CORWIN was born on March 22, 1909 in Janesville, Iowa the son of Harry and Minnie (Engleman) Corwin. He was united in marriage to Helen Hanson on December 6, 1941 at St. Joseph, Missouri. She died on September 5, 1982. Roger was employed by the John Deere Research Center where he retired in 1973. He died on Tuesday, November 9, 1999 at the Cedar Falls Western Home at 90 years of age.
Roger is survived two sons; Daryl J. Corwin and his wife Dorothy, and Douglas H. Corwin and his wife Janet, both of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two brothers, Donald Corwin and his wife Dagny of Cedar Falls, and Lawrence Corwin and his wife Radah of Waterloo, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Helen; two sisters Jeanette Phelps and Mildred Kreger and two brothers, John and Earl Corwin.
Funeral Services were 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 12, 1999 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Burial was in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens with full military rites conducted by Janesville American Legion Post 522.
