Rodger Lee Brandhorst of Cedar Falls, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025, at Pinnacle Specialty Care.  He was born October 25, 1942; son of Henry Jr. and Jane (DuBois) Brandhorst.  Rodger married Betty (Kern) Brandhorst December 2, 1961.  They celebrated 63 years together.  Two children were born to this union: Renae (Jeff) Brobst (Omaha, NE) and Rod (Sheryl) Brandhorst (Cedar Falls, IA).

Rodger loved classic country music, and played trumpet.  He sang in a few Classic Country bands.  Besides music, he loved westerns, cars, fishing and working on bikes, mowers, and snowblowers. (Not necessarily in that order.)

Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughter, Renae (Jeff) Brobst (Omaha, NE); son, Rod (Sheryl) Brandhorst (Cedar Falls, IA).  Six grandchildren: Nathan (Ren) Brobst (Omaha, NE), Nick (Anna) Brobst (Omaha, NE), Liz Hostert (Waterloo, IA), Zach (Lauren) Brobst (Omaha, NE), Tori Brandhorst (Johnson City, TN, and Josh (Alli) Brobst (Omaha, NE).  Included in these families are nine great-grandchildren, and 2 more coming in December.  Also, a brother, Richard (Joyce) Brandhorst (Waterloo, IA) and brother-in-law, Tom Zilmer (Waterloo, IA)

Rodger is proceeded in death by his parents Henry and Jane Brandhorst; and his sister, Rita Zilmer.
