Rodele I. Arildsen

Rodele I. "Rodie" Arildsen, 75, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. She was born September 21, 1936 in Ackley, Iowa, the daughter of Romaine W. & Adele H. (Heitland) Catlett. Rodele was a 1954 graduate of West Waterloo High School. She married Richard L. "Dick" Arildsen September 4, 1955 in Waterloo. Survivors include her husband, Dick, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Susan A. Cook of Cumming, Georgia and Sandra A. Mallory of Avondale Estates, Georgia; three grandchildren, Elena A., Daniel L. and Kate A. Mallory; and three sisters, Rosemary Walters of Webster City, Iowa, Roxie Davis of Waterloo and Roberta (Duane) Harken of Pleasantville, Iowa. Rodie was preceded in death by her parents. Rodie will always be remembered as a totally selfless person who always put the needs and wants of her family and friends before her own. She was an avid Bingo player, book reader, coupon clipper, and enjoyed talking back to the TV during political shows on C-Span. Roses are red, violets are blue, Rodie, you were very special to all of us, and we will never forget you!
