ROBERT "BOB" WILSON,
87, of New Hartford died Sunday, September 4, 2005 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. Bob was born November 25, 1917 on a farm in Grundy County, the son of John C. & Erie (Collins) Wilson. He married Audrey Elliott July 11, 1942 at Bethany, Missouri. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the European Theatre. His employment includes farming, working at the New Hartford Elevator, and then in security at the University of Northern Iowa for 18 years.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey of New Hartford; one son, Brent (Jane) Wilson of Grundy Center; one daughter, Judy (Terry) Thompson of New Hartford; two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Chris) Carter and Jerod (Angela) Wilson; three great grandchildren, Hunter Wilson, Colton Carter and Westin Carter; one sister, Ruth (Robert) Paine of Eagle Creek, Oregon; and one sister in law, Adeline Bailey of Vancouver, Washington. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Wilson.
Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at United Methodist Church with private family burial at Oak Hill Cemetery, both in New Hartford. A memorial fund will be established for victims of hurricane Katrina.
