Robert R Wildman

Robert R. Wildman, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, November 7, 2011, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa.  Robert was born July 19, 1923 at Cresco, Iowa, the son of Albert and Bess (Buffton) Wildman.  He married Marilyn Peterson November 27, 1948 at Cresco.  Robert served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.  He was an insurance agent for many years and worked at John Deere & Company for twelve years.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Wildman, of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Roberta (Randy) Schmidt of Cedar Falls, Deborah (Brian) Sampson of Nevada, Iowa and Jan (Rick) Roberts of Janesville, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Kimberly, Kerry, Kristopher, Alexandra, Bryce, Jason, Molly and Lindsey; four great grandchildren, William, Elizabeth, Natalee and Brooklyn, and a sister, Dora (Robert) Layton, of Indialantic, Florida.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kim Allan Wildman; two brothers, Howard and John Wildman, and a sister, Verna Carlson.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2011, at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial at  2:00 p.m. at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Cresco, Iowa.  Military Honors will be conducted by Cresco American Legion Post 135.  Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time at the church.  A memorial fund will be established.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
