Robert E Sherbon

Robert E. Sherbon, 80, of Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Falls, died, Thursday, April 28, 2011, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. He was born June 16, 1930 in Cedar Falls, the son of John F. and Hazel Mae (Price) Sherbon. Robert married Florence M. Kuriger on November 15, 1951 in Cedar Falls. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean conflict .  Before his retirement, he was a truck driver for IPS.

Robert is survived by three sons, Mitchell (Ronda) Sherbon of Spencer, Iowa, Howard "Tony" (Marcia) Sherbon of Marengo, Iowa and Mark (Penny) Sherbon of La Porte City, Iowa; one daughter,  Anne Harvey, of Long Grove, Iowa; many grandchildren; and three sisters, Lucy Boyce and Barbara Mark, both of Cedar Falls, and Virginia Gerst of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Jerry Sherbon.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.  Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home.
