Robert A Rath

Robert "Bob" Andrew Rath of Cedar Falls , born September 28, 1930 in Creston, IA to Andrew P Rath and Helen June Mitchell was received by the Lord on March 11, 2010.  Bob graduated from Cedar Falls High School and was employed as a journeyman meat cutter in the family store, Rath & Son Grocery of College Hill and various other stores in the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area for many years.  He was highly regarded as an accomplished horseman in the state of Iowa, training and showing many state champions.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Laurie J Rath.

Bob is survived by 10 children: son Michael Rath of Cedar Falls, IA, daughter Karen Rath Hoeppner and husband Tom of New Hartford, IA, daughter Patricia Rath of Oskaloosa, IA, son Keith Rath and wife Melinda of Shellsburg, IA, son Scott Rath and wife Laurie of North Liberty, IA, son William Rath of San Diego, CA, son Jerry Rath and wife Shelly of Richmond, VA, daughter Teresa Rath Mabry and husband Rob of San Antonio, TX, son David Rath of West Union, IA, and daughter Joni Rath Nelson and husband Jerry of Osceola, IA;  22 grandchildren, and 12  great grandchildren.  Bob is also survived by his last American Quarter Horse, Banjo

Memorial services were Saturday April 17th at the Celebration First Assembly of God, Hwy 63, Waterloo, IA.   Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
