Robert E. "Bob" Mortensen, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, November 4, 2011, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. Robert was born June 13, 1925, at Kimbalton, Iowa, the son of Chris & Esther (Jensen) Mortensen. He married Ellen H. Andersen December 29, 1944 in Cedar Falls. Robert was an electrician for many years with See Electric and later co-owned and retired from C & M Electric, both in Cedar Falls.
Survivors include his daughter, Janet (Doug) Corwin, of Cedar Falls, one grandson, four great-grandchildren, and a step brother, Richard (Donna) Mortensen, of Joplin, Missouri.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and wife, an infant son, one grandson, Allen Corwin, three brothers, Edwin, Leonard and Peter Mortensen, and a sister, Alma Hahn.
Memorial services and inurnment are tentatively being planned for the Spring of 2012. A memorial fund will be established. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.Guestbook
