ROBERT LILJA, 73,
of Cedar Falls died Saturday, March 27, 2004, in the Emergency Room at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. He was born August 8, 1930, at Rockford, Illinois, the son of Edgar and Rachel Alice (Goodman) Lilja. Robert married Marilyn Haas, September 5, 1953, at Johnson Creek, Wisconsin. She later preceded him in death on May 4, 1986. He married Pam Swanson-Driscoll November 12, 1988, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Robert was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired early from management at Schultz Manufacturing. He was also a member of Mensa and wrote articles for Mensa publications.
Robert is survived by his wife Pam, of Cedar Falls; four sons, Daniel (Sally) Lilja of Plains, Montana; David (Sarah) Lilja of Maplewood, Minnesota; Peter (Kayann) Lilja of Cedar Falls, Iowa and a step-son David (Jodi) Driscoll of Waukee, Iowa; six grandchildren, Adam, Carson and Travis Lilja all of Plains, Montana; Andrew Lilja of Maplewood, Minnesota, and Sam and Sophie Lilja of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two sisters Ruth Joslyn of Sarasota, Florida and Mary (Joe) Cech of Davis, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Marilyn.
Services were 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2004, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the V.A. Hospital or Nazareth Lutheran Church.
