ROBERT RICHARD "PINKY"
LAUER,
74, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, April 8, 2005, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes. He was born Oct. 13, 1930, in Eldorado, Iowa, the son of Philip and Francis Keig Lauer. He married Delores Witwer Oct. 14, 1951, in Eldorado. They later divorced. He married Joyce T. Henriksen-Sanchez November 19, 1978 in Cedar Falls. Robert served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Lauer was employed at Rath Packing Company for 25 years and at John Deere Company for 3 years. He also was a truck farmer.
Survivors include his wife of Cedar Falls; a stepson, S.S.G. John G. (Diana) Sanchez of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; a daughter, Grace Lonergan of Fredericksburg; five step grandchildren; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James W. Lauer of Waterloo. Preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Thomas; a step granddaughter; and a sister, Mary Opperman.
Family directed memorial services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Valley View Baptist Church with inurnment at a later date.
