ROBERT E. "BOB" LAMB, 93, of Trumbull, Connecticut and formerly of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at his home in Connecticut. He was born February 4, 1914 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Albert and Elizabeth (Younker) Lamb. Bob married Katharine Gallagher on June 20, 1936 in Ottumwa, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 24, 2005. Bob received his BS degree in general engineering from Iowa State University in December of 1934. He worked at Chamberlain Corporation in Waterloo from 1935-1965, interrupted by a year at Viking Pump Company in Cedar Falls from 1936-37. In 1965, Bob and Katharine moved to Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, where Bob continued his employment with Chamberlain as Senior Manufacturing Engineer at their Scranton, Pennsylvania facility. He retired in 1979. Bob was active in the Cedar Falls Municipal Band, where he played French horn. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls and later a member of Clarks Summit Presbyterian Church, where he also played French horn in a small group. Bob was an active participant in physical fitness activities. He especially enjoyed swimming, canoeing, and tennis, which he played regularly into his eighties.
Survivors include one son, David "Bert" (Cozette) Lamb, of Tucson, Arizona; two daughters, Linda (John) Todd of Huntington, Connecticut and Kay (Jim) Lebeda of Urbandale, Iowa; one daughter in law, Mary Lou Lamb of Carlsbad, California; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and a sister, Dorothy Baldwin, of Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and wife; a son, Richard Lamb; and two sisters, Lucille Thoreson Butler and Louise Roberts Gabby.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, May 18, 2007, at First Presbyterian Church, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Executive Plaza III, 11350 McCormick Rd., Suite 906, Hunt Valley, MD 21031.
