Robert "Bob" O. Harder, 74, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Bob was born January 12, 1934, at Dysart, Iowa, the son of Ray & Ruby (Kroeger) Harder. He married Barbara Caley November 24, 1955 at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls. Bob received his B.A. Degree in Mathematics & Science from the University of Northern Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was employed at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo, until the time of their closure.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of Cedar Falls; his son, Steve (Elizabeth) Harder of Austin, Texas; his daughter, Julie Schafer of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Summer (Todd) Swarts, Jacob Schafer and Michael Harder; three great grandchildren, Jaden Swarts, Maya Swarts and Aiden Cleaveland; two brothers, Bill (Alice) Harder of Cedar Falls and Wendell "Wendy" Harder of Waterloo; and two sisters, Darlene Durns of Waterloo and Dolores (Jim) Wulf of Cedar Falls.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
