Robert C. "Bob" Goss, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Care Center.  He was born March 31, 1929 in Huntington, Indiana, the son of Hubert and Helen (Reagan) Goss.  Bob married Carolyn R. "Lyn" Hipskind on March 28, 1951 in Huntington.  She preceded him in death on June 12, 2014.  Bob graduated from Huntington Catholic High School, Huntington College and earned his PhD from Purdue University.  He was a Professor of Microbiology at Loyola University of the South in New Orleans and the University of Northern Iowa for 30 years, retiring in 1991.

Bob is survived by his son, Larry Goss, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Kathy Hansen of Bedford, Texas and Nancy Buck of Waterloo; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; a son, David Goss; a grandson, Roger Goss, and a sister, Ann Delvin.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Huntington, Indiana at a later date.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or UnityPoint Hospice.  Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com
