Robert "Bob" D. "Flip" Folkers, 74, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Manor Care in Waterloo. He was born December 12, 1941 in Aredale, Iowa, the son of Frank and Marie (Oltman) Folkers. Bob attended Greene High School in Greene, Iowa and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He worked in the building trade and later worked for Scotland Yard Lawn Care, retiring in 2002. Bob was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous (friend of Bill Wilson & Dr. Bob) for 27 years.

He is survived by his brother, Russell (Marilyn) Folkers, of Greene, Iowa, seven nieces and five nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dorothy Maifeld and Betty Erne, and a brother, Floyd Folkers.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. March 19, 2016, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene at a later date. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. March 18 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to UnityPoint Hospice, 1825 Logan Ave., Waterloo, IA 50703.
