Robert L Abbas

Robert L. Abbas, 66, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, May 6, 2011, at Cedar Falls Health Care Center.  He was born April 3, 1945 at Mason City, Iowa, the son of George and Alice (Thompson) Abbas.  He married Pamela Van Laere September 1, 1967 at Kanawha, Iowa and they were later divorced.  Bob received his BA degree from the University of Northern Iowa and his Master degree from Mankato State University.  For many years Bob was  Director of Community Development for the city of Cedar Falls and later was a car salesman in the Cedar Falls area.  Music was a big part of Bob's life.

He is survived by his daughter, Leah (Ramsay) MacMillan, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; one grandson, Drake, and his twin brother Tom (Becky) Abbas, of Waterloo.  Bob was preceded in death by one daughter, Erika Abbas, his parents, and one brother, David Abbas.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2001 at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
