Margarita "Rita" Helena Pitzman-Reinicke, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, February 13, 2009, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Rita was born March 13, 1917 in Vienna, Austria, the daughter of Carl & Anna (Blachek) Rudolph. She married Emil Pitzman and he died in WWII. She married Harold Reinicke September 2, 2000 at St. John Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Rita was a nurses aide for 15 years, retiring in 1974.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Reinicke, of Cedar Falls; her son, Herb (Jackie) Pitzman, of Woodstock, Illinois; her daughter, Erika (Don) Hurst, of Cedar Falls; two stepdaughters, Rebecca (Dale) Geerdes, of Cedar Falls and Ruth (Robert) Mick, of Waverly; five grandchildren, Cindy Hurst Terhune (Tim) Hersey, Ron Hurst, Kevin (Dawn) Hurst, Mark (Teresa) Hurst and Jamie Pitzman, five step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Renae Hurst, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2009, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with interment in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Public visitation will be from 2 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Nazareth Lutheran Church, Christian Crusaders, or Cedar Valley Hospice.
