Rickey Joe Foster

Rickey Joe Foster, 59, of Waterloo, died Thursday, October 18, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Rickey was born December 6, 1952, at Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Cap & Jonie (Klapp) Foster. He married Julie Frederickson and they later divorced. Later he married Melissa Harkless and they later divorced. Rickey worked in concrete construction for 25 years and was a maintenance technician at Phelps Youth Pavillion. Survivors include four sons, Joseph (Maria) Foster and Aaron Foster, both of Waterloo, Jay Harkless of Parkersburg and Creed Harkless of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Britt (Jarod) Reints, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren Nevaeh Foster, Chylea Foster, Kaden Foster, Devin Reints, Emma Reints and Jude Harkless; three brothers, Jeff Harkless of Waterloo, Richard Foster of Des Moines and Bruce Harkless of Texas; three sisters, Janine Harkless of Cedar Falls, Angie Gibson of Des Moines and Delores Lawson of Des Moines. Rickey was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike Lawson. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.
