Rick Bauer

Rick Jay Bauer, 50, of Zionsville, Indiana, formerly of Cedar Falls, died at his home on Monday, December 3, 2012. He was born July 3, 1962 in Cedar Falls, the son of Gerald and Allene (Degener) Bauer. Rick was a 1980 graduate of Cedar Falls High School and earned his B.A. and M.A. in Environmental Science from the University of Northern Iowa. He was an Energy Efficiency Specialist for many years at Purdue University. Rick enjoyed Formula 1 and Indy Car racing. Survivors include his parents of Cedar Falls, a brother, Dan (Lesley) Bauer, of New Richmond, Wisconsin, a sister, Teri (Ray) Gray, of Cedar Falls, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be 10:30 am Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
