Richard C. Scobee, 72, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, August 25, 2017, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center. He was born June 29, 1945 in Cedar Falls, the son of Thomas and Maxine (Blanton) Scobee. Rich married Carolyn Lageschulte on October 14, 1967 in Cedar Falls. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School and was a metallurgist at Viking Pump Company in Cedar Falls for 42 years, retiring in July of 2007. Rich was past president of the New Hartford Lion's Club and a 25 year volunteer and former Chief of the New Hartford Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed hunting & fishing, woodworking, bus trips with Carolyn, and Ford cars.

Rich is survived by his wife, Carolyn Scobee, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Jason (Jennifer) Scobee of Knoxville, Tennessee and Ryan (Sara) Scobee of Nashua, Iowa; four grandchildren, Tyler, Chase, Josiah and Elijah, and two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Jolene.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jeanette Schroedermeier.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2017, at New Hartford United Methodist Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Bend Humane Society.
