Richard Allen "Dick" Hanson, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center. He was born February 27, 1933 in Winona, Minnesota, the son of Alvey and Cora (Olson) Hanson. Dick married Pearl Krarup on August 21, 1954 in Withee, Wisconsin. He was a 1951 graduate of Whitehall High School in Whitehall, Wisconsin. Dick served in the U.S. Army from February 1956 until December 1957. He worked for John Deere & Company for 38 years, retiring in 1993.

Dick is survived by his wife, Pearl Hanson, of Cedar Falls; his daughter, Kim Hanson, of Waterloo, Iowa; his son, Scott (Tawn) Hanson, of New Hope, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Ryan and Abigail Hanson, both of New Hope, and his brother, Bob (La Verna) Hanson, of Hixton, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Dawn Hanson, and a brother, Harvey Hanson.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church or Lutheran Family Services.
