Richard A. Frandsen

Richard A. Frandsen, 80, of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 15, 2018, at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo.  He was born March 11, 1938 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Ralph D. and Virginia (Jacobson) Frandsen.  Richard married Shirley (Jarman) Denny on December 28, 1973 in Mundelein, Illinois.  He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and worked at Viking Pump Company in Cedar Falls for many years.  Richard's hobbies included flying remote control airplanes and model trains.

Richard is survived by his wife, Shirley Frandsen, of Waterloo; two sons, Jeff Frandsen of Missouri and Jon (Toni) Frandsen of Warrensburg, Missouri; a daughter, Tammy Ellis, of Waterloo; five stepsons; four grandchildren and six step grandchildren; three great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren, and two sisters, Joyce Jensen and Joan (Lynn) Christensen, both of Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Donald Frandsen and a brother-in-law, Jim Jensen.

A Celebration Luncheon will be held at Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24.  Services will be private.  Memorials may be directed to the Richard Frandsen family, 1428 Asbury Lane, Waterloo, Iowa 50701.   Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
