RICHARD "DICK"
COLVIN, 65, of Brooklyn and formerly of rural Reinbeck, Iowa, died Sunday, May 8, 2005, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
He was born December 26, 1939 in Iowa City, Iowa. Dick was the adopted son of Jesse M. and Lorraine (Gonnering) Colvin. He married Nancy Heber on November 5, 1960 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Dick worked for over twenty years at John Deere & Company in Waterloo, retiring in 1999. He later worked for Kennedy Marine in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of Brooklyn; his children, David (Shelly) Colvin of Creston, Ohio, and Lyn (Wynn) Smith of Hudson, Iowa; nine grandchildren, and a sister, Nancy (John) Karpan of Denver, Colorado.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Inurnment will be at a later date. A memorial fund will be established.
