Richard L. Aschenbrenner

Richard L. Aschenbrenner, 80, of Waterloo, Iowa died Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center. Richard was born February 13, 1939, the son of Donald & Ethel May (Watters) Aschenbrenner.   He married Phyllis Crawford November 21, 1973 in Cedar Falls. Richard worked for John Deere & Company for many years and retired as an inspector.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Aschenbrenner of Waterloo; his children, Dana (Julie) Aschenbrenner of Iowa City, Michael (Elizabeth) Aschenbrenner of Lake Mills, Iowa, Steve (Kristi) Aschenbrenner of Osage, Iowa, Scott (Sheri) Crawford of Waterloo, Jeri (Greg) Poell of Davenport, Iowa and Tim (Brenda) Crawford of Cedar Falls; 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Donna Harriman and one nephew.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls with burial at Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
