August 30, 1905 — March 28, 2002
RENETTA (WESTENDORF) MEIER SHULER was born August 30, 1905 in Bremer County, Iowa the daughter of William and Minnie (Schwartz) Westendorf. She married Richard Meier November 29, 1923 at Grove Hill Church near Readlyn, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1941. Renetta married Don Shuler October 1, 1954 in Weiser, Idaho and he preceded her in death on June 28, 1963. She was a homemaker and her family was very important to her. Renetta died Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa at the age of 96 years.
Survivors include two sons, Mervyn Meier of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Paul Meier of Waterloo; one daughter, Evonne Harris of Prescott, Arizona; 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Renetta was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one son, William Meier, one great great grandson, four sisters, Edna Westendorf, Hilda Meier, LaVera Bruch, and Lucille Eichorst Sheets, and one brother, Edwin Westendorf.
Services were 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2002, at St. John Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls with burial in Fairbank Cemetery in Fairbank, Iowa. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Guestbook
