Reinhard Christof
Voss, Jr., was born November 24, 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Reinhard Christof Sr. and Wava Faye (Forry) Voss. He married Betty A. Cathcart in November of 1962 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and they were later divorced. Reinhard served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 and was employed as a welder at John Deere for 33 years retiring in 1988. He was past President of the Board of Trustees of Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 and was past Commodore of the North Shore Boat Club in Cedar Falls. Reinhard died Thursday, February 3, 2000, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, at 63 years of age.
Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly D. Cross and her husband Kevin, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two grandsons, Shane and Taylor Cross; his mother, Wava Voss and his sister, Vonnelle Tippett, both of La Porte City, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Richard Voss.
Services: 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2000 at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Full military rites were conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Memorials may be directed to the family.
