Rebecca Ann Nelson, 59, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, April 20, 2012, at Sartori Hospital. She was born September 16, 1952 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Richard A. and Betty (Morelock) Wittren. Rebecca was married to Chris A. Nelson October 2, 1976 in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1971 and worked as a teacher's assistant in the Waterloo school system for some years and then later she operated a day care center for pre school children from her home. Rebecca is survived by her husband, Chris Nelson, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Shawn (Nichole) Nelson, of Waterloo and Jason Nelson, of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Angela Nelson, of Rochester, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Chloe Nelson and Caeto Bumgarner; her father, Richard A. Wittren, of Cedar Falls; four sisters, Joan (Dean) Smith of Waterloo, Karen York of Sharon, Wisconsin, Karla Trower of Cedar Falls and Cynthia (Tony) French of Finchford, and two brothers, Karl Wittren of Waterloo and William Wittren of Ankeny, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her mother, and one nephew, Nicholas Trower. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Trinity Bible Church, with burial at a later date in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
