Raymond John Roberts, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center. He was born December 29, 1921 at Renville, Minnesota, the son of Henry James and Fanny (Bright) Roberts. Raymond married Margery Maifeld December 25, 1943 at Camp Roberts, California. He was a veteran of World II serving in the United States Army. Before his retirement he worked for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 1982. Raymond enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Margery Roberts, of Cedar Falls; one son, Gary (Cynthia) Roberts, of Osh Kosh, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Jeanette Francis, of Waterloo, Lenette (Nick) Tangen, of Cedar Falls, Michael (Sandra) Roberts, of Waterloo, Nathan (Crystal) Roberts, of Waterloo, Amity (Ryan) Olson, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, and Adam (Marlene) Roberts, of Little Chute, Wisconsin, and fourteen great grandchildren, and one brother, Tommy (Darlene) Roberts, of Evansdale, Iowa. Raymond was preceded in death by parents, one son, Larry Roberts in 1994; one brother, Earl Roberts, and one sister Shirley Dietrich. Funeral services will be 1:30 p. m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Cedar Falls AMVETS Post # 49 will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
