Raymond E. Miller

Raymond E. Miller, 90 , of Waterloo, died Sunday, January 15, 2017, at UnityPoint Health Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He was born June 14, 1926 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Leonard and Cozette (Law) Miller. Raymond married Genevieve Burchard on December 9, 1950 in Cedar Falls. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and worked at John Deere & Company in Waterloo for 28 years, retiring from the Engine Works in 1983.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Genevieve Miller, of Waterloo; two sons, Russell (Sonya Shanley-Miller) Miller of Waverly, Iowa and Dale (Linda) Miller of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Elaine (Dale) Reid of Ackley, Iowa and Cindy Lutgen of Waterloo; 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard Miller of Parkersburg, Iowa and Douglas Miller of Waterloo, and three sisters, Delores Leitner of Cheney, Washington, Alice (Kenneth) French of Waterloo and Shirley Burbridge of Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Leonard Miller; two grandchildren; a brother, James Miller, and two sisters, Margaret Cross and Aleda Hart.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be 3—6:00 p.m. Wednesday, and one hour before service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
