Ray Mckinney

Ray E. McKinney, 89, of Janesville, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013. He was born November 19, 1924 in Fullerton, North Dakota, the son of James L. and Margaret (Jones) McKinney. Ray married Grace Bonorden March 25, 1950 in Cedar Falls. He was owner and operator of M and J Oil in Cedar Falls for many years, retiring in 1991. He also farmed for many years. Ray is survived by his wife, Grace McKinney, of Janesville; one son, James "Rusty" McKinney, of Cedar Janesville, and one daughter, Barbara (Dirk) Abben, of Waterloo; three step grandchildren, Trinity, Katrina, and Denis Abben, all of Waterloo; one brother, Clifford (Lucy) McKinney, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and one sister, Pearl Crick, of Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Roy, Lewis, Henry, and Johnnie McKinney. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2013, at the funeral home, and also one hour before services on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
