RALPH THIERMAN was born October 20, 1909 in rural Cedar Falls, the son of Henry and Lizzie (Lammer) Thierman. He married Hazel Wilcox on July 19, 1931 in Waterloo, Iowa. Ralph was a 1927 graduate of Cedar Falls High School and was a graduate of Gates Business College in Waterloo. He worked for many years at the Independent Meat & Grocery in Waterloo and worked in the Circulation Department at the Waterloo Courier Newspaper for 27 years, retiring in 1972. Ralph was also a lifetime member of the Elk's Club in Waterloo. He died Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, at 91 years of age.
Ralph is survived by his wife Hazel, of Cedar Falls and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Esther Fruchtenicht.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001 at the funeral home, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established.
