Ralph Franklin Scott, 73, of Cedar Falls, died at home on Friday, November 4, 2016. He was born April 29, 1943 in Parkersburg, Iowa, the son of Lyle Scott, Sr. and Evelyn (Ostendorf) Scott. Ralph married Josie Schons on October 22, 1971 in Hudson, Iowa. Ralph graduated from Dike High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for 30 years at John Deere & Company in Waterloo in both the foundry and the tractor line, retiring in 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Josie Scott, of Cedar Falls; two brothers, Lyle "Butch" (Valinda) Scott, Jr. of Stout, Iowa and David "Mike" (Rachel) Scott of Waterloo, and three sisters, Etta Ridder of Finchford, Iowa, Lorrita (Jim) McClintock of Cedar Falls and Pamela (Darrell) Hansen of Dike.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sylvia Corwin.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be 5—8:00 p.m. Monday, and one hour before service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
