Raelen E Simpson

RAELEN E. SIMPSON was born September 21, 1908 in Ogle County, Illinois the son of William Earl and Ruth (Atwood) Simpson. He married Bessie Dixon March 9, 1926 in Allison, Iowa. She died August 14, 1978. Raelen served his country in the U. S. Air Force for over 26 years including time during WWII in the Pacific Theatre where he flew B-29 Bombers. He was employed by Kraft Foods for many years and then was a real estate agent with Baird & Fink Real Estate in Cedar Falls for many years. Raelen died Wednesday, February 10, 1999, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, at the age of 90 years.

Survivors include his son, Robert Simpson of Wells, Maine; two grandchildren, Derek Simpson and Kari Simpson; one brother, Claire Simpson of Marion, Iowa; and four sisters, Eloise Moore of Winter Springs, Florida, Fern Ott of Ferndale, Washington, Radah Corwin of Waterloo, Iowa and Helen Lindholm of Peoria, Arizona.  Raelen was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two brothers, Kenneth and Duane Simpson.

Memorial services were 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 15, 1999, at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Waterloo.  Burial was 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls.    A memorial fund has been established.
