Phyliss L. Roth, 94, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, June 2, 2008, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. She was born March 10, 1914 on a farm near Maquon, Illinois, the daughter of Warren and Samantha (Kay) Nelson. Phyliss married Albert Roth on February 8, 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1992. Phyllis graduated from Galva, Illinois High School and attended the teacher's college in Macomb, Illinois. She worked briefly at Sartori Memorial Hospital and taught Sunday School for many years. Phyliss was a charter member of Faith Wesleyan Church and Trinity Bible Church, both in Cedar Falls, and was past secretary and treasurer for the Missionary Society at Faith Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy (Earl) Kirschenman of Hawkeye, Iowa, Mary (Shelton) Hornback of Cedar Falls, and Bonnie (Don) Meister of Bremen, Indiana; twelve grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Phyliss was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a son, Robert Frank Roth, and a brother, Robert Frank Nelson.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Trinity Bible Church in Cedar Falls, with interment at Waterloo Cemetery. Visitation will be 4—8:00 pm Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to City Team, 526 SE Grand Ave., Portland, OR 97214.
