Philip Gordon Suggs Sr.

Philip Gordon Suggs Sr., 82, Cedar Falls, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the Denver Sunset Home.

Philip was born November 26, 1940 in San Diego, California to Gordon and Kathleen (Bass) Suggs.  He graduated in 1959 from Lowell High School in Lowell, Indiana.  Philip married Michelle (Mohr) Gilowski on July 18, 1981 at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church.  He worked as a union pipefitter for over 30 years in the Cedar Valley.

Philip is survived by his wife Michelle of 41 years; children, Philip (Monica Izer) Suggs Jr. of Waterloo and Cheryl (Shawn) Goodman of Iowa City; step-children, Heidi (Jason Lenhardt) Wauters of Amana, Gretchen (Brett) Moffatt of Omaha and William (Amy) Gilowski of Colorado; grandchildren, Drew Suggs, Kylie Brown, Cody Brown, Brianne Brown, Jacek Wauters, Haydin Wauters, Analise Wheeler and Brady Wheeler; and extended family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Suggs and adopted sister, Leslie Oberman.

The visitation for Philip will be on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM followed by a family service.  Burial will be at Cedar Valley Memorial Garden.
