PEARL LEAURA NIELSEN,
90, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Center in Cedar Falls. She was born March 6, 1915 in Princeton, Minnesota, the daughter of Emil and Olga (Olson) Olson. Pearl married Harvey E. Nielsen on March 6, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1997. Pearl raised her family and was a seamstress for most of her life. She was an active member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Cedar Falls.
Survivors include a son, Jerry "Bud" (Vonnie) Nielsen of Cedar Falls and a daughter, Carole (Jack) Good of Janesville; six grandchildren, Theresa (Gary) Calhoun, Travis (Josi) Nielsen, Mike (Kristi) Nielsen, Jeff (Jenny) Nielsen, Dustin (Ann) Good and Rebecca (Nate) Reed; eight great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lucille Carling and Nellie Bos.
Pearl was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two brothers, Alfred and Gerald Olson, and two sisters, Ruby Aspen and Helen Eisenhut.
Funeral services were 10:30 am Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, with interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the church.
