PEARLE F. BILLINGS was born September 23, 1905, in Peru, Iowa, the daughter of John and Emma (Gonseth) Jones. She married Platt Billings on May 19, 1927 in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1993. Pearle attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI). She was a teacher in Nora Springs, Iowa and a bookkeeper with Wolverton Printing Company in Cedar Falls for over forty years. Pearle died Thursday, January 4, 2001, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, at 95 years of age.
She is survived by her son, John R. Billings of Helena, Montana, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pearle was preceded in death by her husband and parents; four brothers, Edwin, William, Lloyd and Arthur Jones, and two sisters, Elsie Cochrane and Goldie Kuster.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2001, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel, with burial at Hillside Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Home and Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.
