Paul M. Steele, 51, of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at his home of natural causes. Paul was born February 25, 1963, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of Dan & Phyllis (Beard) Steele. He married Dawn Jacks June 27, 1994 in Waterloo. They later divorced. Paul graduated from Northern University High School in 1981, attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated from Waterloo Barber College. He was a hairstylist for 20 years and was currently employed at Bertch Cabinet Company in Waterloo. Survivors include his daughter, Taylor Steele, of Goodletsville, Tennessee; his son, Nicholas Jacks, of Goodletsville, Tennessee; his grandson, Parker Cart; his mother, Phyllis Steele, of Cedar Falls; one brother, Anthony (Sara) Steele, of Wildwood, Missouri; two sisters, Sandra Steele, of Mercer Island, Washington and Pamela Steele, of Waterloo; and his maternal grandmother, Jane Beard, of Cedar Falls. Paul was preceded in death by his father. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
