Patricia Ann Shimp

Patricia Ann Shimp, 79, of Cedar Falls (formerly of rural New Hartford) died on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the Deery Suites at Western Home Communities, on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. She was born in Waterloo December 3, 1945, daughter of Gerald and Carolyn (Johnson) Clabaugh. Pat married Michael Shimp on July 1, 1977, at St. Timothy's United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls. She was a 1964 graduate of Waterloo West High School. Pat continued her education at UNI and Gates Business College. She worked in various capacities through the years.  Her retail career included many years in grocery and convenience store work.  Pat also worked as a computer typesetter, a legal secretary, and a bank courier before fully retiring in 2008.  She was a member of the New Hartford Women's Club and Rebekahs.  Pat also enjoyed spending time sewing with her crafting group from Aplington.

Pat is survived by her children, Michael (Robert Lehr) Clabaugh of Burnsville, MN and Lori (Steven) Weber of Dewar; three grandchildren, Elise Lehr, Louis (Stacey) Weber and Katie Weber; three great-grandchildren, Noah, Christian and Izzy Weber; a brother, Ronald (Carol) Johnson of Dysart; five nieces and nephews; and a dear friend of 50 years, Lynne Johnson.  She was preceded in death by her father and her mother; her husband of 43 years, Mike; her granddaughter, Stephanie Lehr; her sister, Sandy Mullinex; and her dear friend, Carol Wieneke.

Pat's Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, with Visitation the afternoon prior from 3-5:00 p.m., both at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in New Hartford.  Memorials may be directed to Cedar Bend Humane Society.
